Smashteck are a computer and phone repairs business based in Enniscrone in Co.Sligo specialising in the sale of used smartphones and tablets. All our products are pre-owned and used devices that have being factory reset, refurbished with the installation of new parts, fully tested and carefully graded A,B, C or D unless marked ‘Brand New In Box’.

Do you have a shop where I can come and view/ collect your stock?

Yes, we're based in Enniscrone Business Park, Enniscrone Co. Sligo (Not far from Ballina Co. Mayo) So you are always welcome to pop into us. You also have the option to buy online and collect it instore. 

Can I use a Vodafone/O2/Meteor/3 Network/48/Emobile/Tesco/lyca SIM card in your handsets?

Yes. When you purchase a factory unlocked or sim free phone from, you have the option of using any network in Ireland or indeed worldwide. You can also choose network locked handsets and these are only for use on the network specified.

I've just received my phone from you guys. Can I start using it straight away?

Yes. All our smartphones and tablets have being factory reset and activated. All you need to do is turn it on, insert your sim card where required and enjoy your new device.

I have only an older standard sized SIM card and the handset I'd like requires a micro/ nano SIM. What should I do?

Go to your current network provider and tell them you are purchasing a new phone - be specific as to the model - iphone 4s, iphone 5s, Samsung Galaxy S4 etc. They will then provide you with an up to sim card that will fit the phone. We'd also advise to arrange this before purchasing so you can get up and running as soon as possible and not be without a phone for any period of time.

What if my phone becomes blocked or blacklisted?

We really must stress that this happening is very unlikely. We carry out strenuous checks on all stock prior to purchase and use a service called CheckMend, the international database for stolen property. Our tight control systems ensure all handsets are 100% network compliant. Before we receive our stock it's checked, while it's in stock it's checked and before it's dispatched it's checked. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the second hand mobile phone industry, handsets can sometimes get blocked by the previous owner committing insurance fraud. While this is very rare, we will always guarantee to replace any handset purchased from us which becomes blocked in the future regardless of warranty.

What do your products come with?

All our products are sent out in either original device packaging or our generic Smashteckphones box (depending on your order), a compatible USB cable and mains adapter and of course our warranty, as standard. We don’t supply user manuals, headphones or a mains charger unless otherwise stated. User manuals, which we do not supply can be downloaded from manufactures websites.

What is the actual condition of your products?

All our products have been fully tested and are fully working. Our comprehensive grading system refers only to the cosmetic condition of the product not the functionality or whether you receive any extra accessories etc. Please see our grading definitions

Do you change any parts on your products?

Yes. When new stock arrives to us, we test all parts and functions of each and every handset. When a part is found to be coming to its end of life or faulty, its replaced with a compatible new part. do all our own upgrades and repairs in-house so theres no delay with having stock ready to sell.

Where do you get your stock?

We purchase our stock from various sources including mobile phone operators, corporate wholesalers and the general public.

Can you provide photos of each and every phone you have for sale?

Unfortunately we are unable to provide product specific photographs due to the large amount of stock we process. However, we are very strict with our grading system. If you receive a product and find that you’re not happy with it, you can return it within 14 days.

Are your smartphones locked to mobile phone networks?

Yes, some od the handsets are network specific, meaning they are for use with that network only. also sell handsets that are suitable for most Irish mobile phone networks – Vodafone, O2, Meteor, 3 network, 48 Go Conquer, Tesco mobile - These are the factory unlocked models. This means the handset has being permanently unlocked by the manufacture and will be suitable for any sim card, from any network in any country in the world.

What does factory unlocked mean?

When referring to mobile phones, this means the handset has being officially unlocked by the original manufacturer and will remain unlocked or sim free for the duration of its existence. DO NOT deal in or work with phones that have been ‘jailbroken’ or ‘rooted’ as this can severely damage handsets.

Can I unlock my phone after Ive purchased from

Yes and no! Its possible to unlock certain network handsets – Vodafone and O2. However, networks such as Meteor, Emobile and 3 network cannot be unlocked. Our sister company,, offer a full range of unlocking options. Please be aware that jailbreaking or rooting a handset purchased from will invalidate the warranty.


Do the smartphones you sell come with contracts?

No. We here at supply contract free handsets meaning you buy the device outright. We do not sell sim cards, offer any networks tariffs or deals or do any credit agreements.

How do I order?

Placing your order couldn’t be simpler. Go to the shop section of our website here and choose from a great selection of handsets. You also get to choose the Colour, Grade, Network and what type of packaging you would prefer. Once you are ready, proceed to the checkout where you can either register a free account with us or checkout as a guest. And thats it really.

Can you accept orders over the telephone?

Yes. If you are unable to use our online store then give us a call on 096 54111 or 0876145991. Our office hours are 9.30am – 6pm, Monday through Friday and 12 until 6pm Saturday.  

Can you deliver to a different address to my billing/credit/debit card address?




How soon will i get my order?

Typically, orders placed before 1pm on a working day are shipped the same day. However, due to unforeseeable factors, we cannot guarantee next day delivery. But the great thing is, 98% of our orders are received within 48 hours of being placed. 

How are your products dispatched?

We only use An Post registered postage,or DPD for delivery. This method ensures all orders are insured and traceable. On ocassion, we may also use a courier company to complete delivery. All packages must be signed for on delivery by the customer.

I ordered a phone a few days ago and its still not arrived, what should I do?

If your order has being confirmed as dispatched and has not arrived with you after 2 or 3 days, please call us. We will track down the parcel through An Post or DPD and find out what the problem is. A lot of the time, an attempted delivery is made and there is no one home to sign for it. In this case, take the ‘Attempted Delivery’ slip from An Post and bring it to your nearest mail centre.

What should I do if my product has been tampered with or damaged in the post?

When your package arrives and you suspect the sealed delivery was tampered with or opened, DO NOT ACCEPT it from the postman. Tell him you suspect foul play and have him return it - Get a receipt as proof. Contact us immediately and we will advise you from there.


What is your returns policy? offer 3, 6  or 12 month warranty (depending on grade) on all smartphones and tablets, and a 14 days for ‘No Quibble’ return* on all devices. Any goods that are deemed to be faulty within the warranty time periods will need to be returned to via registered post or tracked courier at the customer’s cost. On faulty devices, will cover all and any repairs that are required (within the parameters of the warranty policy). Where a refund is offered, this will include the original cost of postage. Customers who are availing of the ‘No Quibble’ returns policy (within the first 14 days after the sale) need to contact us first at This email address is being protected from spambots. A full refund (for device only, not postage costs) will be issued only after we have received the device back and it has being tested. If we suspect the device has being used, tampered with or damaged, we reserve the right to refund.


When returning the goods, we advise you to insure against loss or damage in transit. Smashteckphones will not be refunding or exchanging any goods that have being damaged or lost in the post. The cost for the service to return items via registered post is minimal compared the cost of a lost or stolen smartphone. We cannot stress enough how important it is to registered and insure valuable items in the post. Items should be returned in the exact condition they were received with all original packaging, contents, instructions and inserts. will not refund faulty goods that have been damaged through misuse or accidental damage. Faults found after unlocking of mobile phones yourself or by using another provider will not be the responsibility of and will not be replaced or refunded. will not issue any refunds for devices that have being returned to us with damage or tampering to the internal security seals.

Device must be returned to us in the same, unused condition as it was dispatched in. Please note, we reserve the right the deny a refund if we suspect the device was used or damaged in this time. You must contact us prior to sending any devices back. Original packaging and/or accessories must be included. Once we receive the item and text/examine it, a refund is then issued, minus the delivery costs.
