From time to time, your Smashteck TV device will need to be updated or you may have trouble connecting to the internet. Don't panic! We are here to help

Updating Apps

Most applications will update automatically, for those that do not navigate to the Smashteck app on your device for the full list of updated apps. By following the installation instructions you will have your device updated in no time.

Alternatively, if the techy side of electronic devices is not your thing you can drop your box into us in store for a full update at a nominal fee of €20.
Please book your device in with us prior to leaving it in. This will ensure a minimal delay for the updating process.

Screen flickering or going blank?

Go to>Settings >Display > Adjust Output Interface and/or HDMI mode.

Not connecting to the internet?

Go to Settings > Date and Time > Tick Automatic Date & Time 

Apps not opening or playing content?

Go to Settings > Apps > Select App and click on ‘Clear Cache’ and then Force Stop > Relaunch the App.

Is content freezing within an App?

This may be due to poor internet speed.Pause the content for a few minutes and allow to buffer then press play again. Third party apps are not Smashteck’s responsibility
